What additional charges should I expect besides the auction purchase price?

For car shipments via RORO (Roll On Roll Off), customers are required to pay an export/commission fee known as the FOB (Free on Board) charge. Our rate for this fee is a fixed 50,000 yen, the lowest in the industry! It must be received within 3 days of the auction ending. Please note that all auction prices are subject to a 10% consumption tax.

Additional costs include transportation of the car from the auction to the dock, typically averaging 5,000 yen but potentially reaching 20,000 yen or more for auctions located further away. Additionally, there is a bank fee of 2,500 yen, as our bank charges this amount to receive international transfers in Yen. Furthermore, customers are required to cover a recycle fee, which ranges from 9,000 yen, and a successful bid fee to the auction of 20,000 yen.

Do you personally inspect the vehicles? How can I be confident in the quality and condition?

In cases where the auction is within our region, we can often arrange for vehicle inspections and additional photos. However, as auctions are nationwide, we typically rely on the inspector’s detailed comments and markings on the map. With our extensive experience in the industry, we’re adept at assessing a car’s condition accurately.

Customers can trust that the car matches our description, as our experienced judgment ensures satisfaction. We also have partnerships with major auctions nationwide and offer a ‘Premium Inspection’ service for a fee of 5,000 JPY. Additionally, most auctions provide telephone inspections, allowing us to gather further information on any auctioned vehicle.

I've encountered concerns about individuals remitting funds to Japanese companies without receiving their purchased vehicles. How can I ensure the security of my investment and avoid the risk of financial loss?

Instances of fraudulent activities underscore the critical necessity of partnering with a reputable, certified, and licensed car and motorcycle export company. At Full Throttle Japan Exports, we prioritize transparency, integrity, and accountability in every transaction. As a licensed and certified entity, we adhere strictly to industry regulations, ensuring the utmost security and reliability for our esteemed clients. What are the primary shipping methods available for transporting cars, and how is the cost determined for each method?

When shipping a single car, the simplest and most common method is called RORO (Roll On Roll Off). This means the car is driven onto the ship at the departure port and driven off at the destination port. The cost of RORO shipping is calculated based on the size of the car, measured in cubic meters (M3), multiplied by a set dollar amount for freight.

To find the M3 of a car, you multiply its length by its width by its height. For example, if we have a car with a length of 3.90 meters, a width of 1.69 meters, and a height of 1.52 meters, we would multiply these dimensions together to get the M3. Then, we multiply the M3 by the current shipping rate to get the total cost of shipping.

If you’re shipping multiple cars or RORO isn’t available for your destination, you can use container shipping. Containers come in three sizes: 20-foot, 40-foot, and 40-foot High Cube. A 20-foot container can hold up to 2 cars, while a 40-foot container can hold 4 medium-sized cars or 5 to 6 small-sized cars. Although there are extra fees for container shipping, like securing the cars inside, it’s often more cost-effective than RORO. If you’re considering container shipping, contact us for personalized advice tailored to your specific needs.
